Shandrick Buckley, 39, was on trial for capital murder<\/p>\n

SAN ANTONIO \u2013 A man was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Tuesday after he killed a former cellmate inside the Bexar County Adult Detention Center in 2019. <\/p>\n

Shandrick Buckley, 39, was on trial for capital murder. After four hours of deliberations, a Bexar County jury found Buckley guilty. <\/p>\n

Buckley was in jail on a 2017 murder charge when he killed 29-year-old Alexander Wise.<\/p>\n

At the time of Wise\u2019s death, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said he was a former member of the Aryan Brotherhood.<\/p>\n

Buckley was previously found incompetent to stand trial. His competency was restored in 2024, and he was returned to Bexar County to face the capital murder charge.<\/p>\n
