The seafood restaurant is shuttering the location Sept. 26. However, Garbo\u2019s fans will still be able to find the familiar lobster rolls at the North Mopac location, the post details.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re so grateful to everyone who made this place what it is,\u201d Garbo&#8217;s co-owners Samantha, Heidi and Hannah <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/garboslobster\/p\/DdFYmHuAGya\/?hl=en&amp;img_index=19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">shared on Instagram. <\/a>\u201cWe\u2019ll miss it more than we can say.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The history<\/p>\n<p>Heidi Garbo started Garbo\u2019s in the Florida Keys before moving the restaurant concept to Austin, according to the restaurant\u2019s website. She opened the first brick-and-mortar spot in North Austin before expanding to Clarksville and Dripping Springs with help from her sisters Samantha and Hannah Garbo.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The North Lamar location initially <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/central-austin\/dining\/garbos-fresh-maine-lobster-brings-new-england-fare-to-downtown-austin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">launched in March 2023<\/a>, according to previous Community Impact reporting\u2014a year before the seafood restaurant opened the Dripping Springs location. The Dripping Springs expansion <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/southwest-austin-dripping-springs\/dining\/garbos-to-close-dripping-springs-location-in-january\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">shuttered in January 2026<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On the menu<\/p>\n<p>Patrons can expect to see lobster rolls served with hand-cut fries, chips, jalapeno slaw or a side salad.
