A new Dallas restaurant named Charlie’s is slated to open at West Lovers Lane and Inwood Road in 2027. It’s headed to the former Adelmo’s<\/a>, which served Italian food in Dallas’ Devonshire neighborhood for decades.<\/p>\n

Charlie’s: This is a familiar restaurant name in Dallas, eh?<\/p>\n

Not quite. Charlie’s is not related to Mister Charles<\/a>, The Charles<\/a> or El Carlos Elegante, three Dallas-born restaurants with similar names. Those are owned by Duro Hospitality. The new Charlie’s is a collaboration between three other Dallas folks: Hunter Pond, who helped create Hudson House; Rick Dunlap, Pond’s co-CEO; and Bob Sambol, the namesake of Bob’s Steak and Chop House<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Charlie’s is named after Pond’s son.<\/p>\n

Sambol has known his two Charlie’s restaurant partners since they were children, according to a news release.<\/p>\n

“This is a very personal restaurant for me,” Sambol said in a statement. “After 30 years, I wanted to create something that feels humble and familiar with great hospitality, a beautiful room, people you know and a restaurant you want to return to again and again.”<\/p>\n

It will be a “timeless” place with “understated, old-school elegance,” the news release said.<\/p>\n

Charlie’s is surrounded by restaurants in this affluent area of Dallas. The original Neighborhood Services is nearby, as is one of Pond’s high-end spots, Drake’s Hollywood. Across the street, Dunston’s Steakhouse has history reaching back to the 1950s<\/a>, while PopUp Bagels opened a few months ago<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Charlie’s will not take online reservations. You want a seat? Reservations will be available with a call to the restaurant landline.<\/p>\n

The menu isn’t yet available, but Pond said the menu will be “old-school New York continental,” with pastas, chops, salads and seafood.<\/p>\n

Charlie’s is expected to open at 5450 W. Lovers Lane, Dallas, in spring or summer 2027.<\/p>\n
