\n\tBrown posted a reply to state Rep. Venton Jones on his Instagram Story<\/a> on Tuesday (Sept. 15) after Jones apologized for honoring the singer due to his history of domestic violence.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFunny thing is\u2026YALL CAME TO\u00a0ME WITH THIS! NOT THE OTHER\u00a0WAY AROUND I was minding\u00a0my damn business,\u201d Brown wrote. \u201cMy shows in\u00a0Dallas were already\u00a0sold out. I\u00a0ain\u2019t ask to\u00a0be honored because\u00a0I knew some\u00a0shit like this\u00a0would happen and\u00a0@eventionjonestx immediately\u00a0started tap dancing\u00a0and apologizing because\u00a0he didn\u2019t wanna\u00a0lose voters and\u00a0support.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe continued: \u201cI have a\u00a0great idea.. how\u00a0about y\u2019all leave\u00a0me the f\u2013k\u00a0alone and let\u00a0me focus on\u00a0the fans that\u00a0spent their money\u00a0to actually see\u00a0and support me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBrown and Usher were on the receiving end of a pair of legislative honors from U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett and Jones during Saturday\u2019s R&B Tour stop at AT&T Stadium. One entered the pair of R&B titans into the Congressional Record, while another officially recognized Brown and Usher\u2019s artistry in the state of Texas.<\/p>\n

\n\tJones joined The Don Lemon Show<\/a> on Monday (Sept. 14), where he backtracked and apologized to constituents for honoring Brown after receiving backlash from domestic violence advocates in the state.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI want to offer an apology,\u201d Jones began. \u201cI think this is a very important conversation around domestic violence and I want to offer my apology to Black women, to women and to anyone who has experienced domestic violence and really express that it was not my intention to stoke the traumas that go into that, as well as the background of this situation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn 2009, Chris Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting<\/a> his then-girlfriend Rihanna<\/a>. He was sentenced to five years\u2019 probation and community service. Brown was also forced to undergo domestic violence counseling.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tYears later, in 2021, police received a call for a domestic dispute at Brown\u2019s California residence, but charges were never filed by prosecutors, citing \u201cinsufficient evidence.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tChris Brown and Usher\u2019s sprawling 59-date R&B Tour<\/a> continues on Friday (Sept. 18) with a show in Las Vegas before heading to L.A.\u2019s SoFi Stadium later this month. <\/p>\n
