In 2009, Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna, who was hospitalized for injuries she sustained.<\/p>\n<p>Brown has faced numerous accusations throughout his career. In 2013, he was involved in an alleged altercation with singer Frank Ocean over a parking space outside a recording studio in California. An ex-girlfriend received a five-year restraining order against Brown in 2017. And in 2024, a lawsuit alleged that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/2024\/07\/23\/chris-brown-rapper-yella-beezy-sued-for-alleged-beating-of-concertgoers-in-fort-worth\/\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Brown, Dallas rapper Yella Beezy and other accomplices \u201cbrutally and severely beat\u201d <\/a>four men backstage at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth after a show.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Following the backlash, Jones issued an apology Tuesday on social media and in an interview with former CNN host Don Lemon.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I want to acknowledge the women, the Black women, whom my actions have hurt,&#8221; Jones wrote on Instagram. &#8220;In moments like these, I think it\u2019s important to be specific and just as loud with an apology as our original actions were. I apologize.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Brown chastised Jones the same day over his apology, saying he never asked for the recognition.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;YALL CAME TO ME WITH THIS! NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND,&#8221; Brown wrote on Instagram. &#8220;I ain\u2019t ask to be honored,&#8221; he added, accusing Jones of apologizing because he did not want to lose voters.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Crockett has not publicly apologized or addressed the issue, and her office did not immediately respond to an email Thursday from\u00a0The Dallas Morning News.
