{"id":439746,"date":"2026-09-18T08:20:11","date_gmt":"2026-09-18T08:20:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/439746\/"},"modified":"2026-09-18T08:20:11","modified_gmt":"2026-09-18T08:20:11","slug":"houston-renter-market-stabilizes-as-rents-lower-slightly-bay-area","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/439746\/","title":{"rendered":"Houston renter market stabilizes as rents lower slightly | Bay Area"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to the latest report from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.har.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Houston Association of Realtors<\/a>, renters across the Greater Houston area are seeing slight decreases in rent rates as supply of units remains steady. <\/p>\n<p>The breakdown<\/p>\n<p>In a Sept. 16 update, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.har.com\/content\/department\/newsroom?pid=2246\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">HAR officials<\/a> said the continual availability of rental units has helped the Greater Houston market stabilize the cost of rent. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe rental market remained well-balanced in August,\u201d said HAR Chair Theresa Hill with Compass RE Texas, LLC &#8211; Houston. \u201cHaving more choices at stable price points helps renters focus on finding a home that meets their needs. As we move into the fall, renters should continue to find a market that offers both opportunity and flexibility.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The number of rental units available jumped nearly 5% year over year in August.
