Officers had responded to the residence for a suicidal subject call.<\/p>\n<p>            Courtesy: Fort Worth Star-Telegram archives<\/p>\n<p>An Arlington police officer fatally shot a man who was armed with a knife late Thursday, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>Officers responded to a call about a suicidal person in the 1700 block of West Lovers Lane about 10:45 p.m., police said in a news release Friday. They found a man with a knife.<\/p>\n<p>An officer fired his service weapon at the man, who later died at a local hospital, according to the release.<\/p>\n<p>The Arlington Police Department Homicide Unit will conduct a criminal investigation per standard procedure to determine if a criminal offense was committed. The Internal Affairs Unit will conduct an administrative investigation into the shooting, police said.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/tcbpm.appianportalsgov.com\/mepublicportal\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tarrant County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office<\/a> hasn\u2019t yet publicly identified the person who died.<\/p>\n<p>No officers were injured.
