{"id":440859,"date":"2026-09-19T08:10:10","date_gmt":"2026-09-19T08:10:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/440859\/"},"modified":"2026-09-19T08:10:10","modified_gmt":"2026-09-19T08:10:10","slug":"dallas-trinity-fc-downs-fort-lauderdale-united-extends-winning-streak","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/440859\/","title":{"rendered":"Dallas Trinity FC downs Fort Lauderdale United, extends winning streak"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dallas Trinity\u00a0FC defeated Fort Lauderdale United, 2-1, on Friday at Beyond Bancard Field, picking up its third straight win.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/topic\/dallas-trinity-fc\/\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Trinity\u00a0FC<\/a> opened the scoring in the 32nd minute with a goal from midfielder Felicia Knox, who headed the ball into the back of the net off a set piece. It was Knox&#8217;s first goal of the season and gave Dallas a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.<\/p>\n<p>Dallas wasted little time extending its lead after the break. Jasmine Hamid scored just 40 seconds into the second half to\u00a0double her team&#8217;s advantage. Fort Lauderdale cut the lead in half in the 59th minute on a goal from forward\u00a0Sh\u2019nia Gordon, but Trinity FC was able to see the match out.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This group is very talented. It\u2019s going to take that mentality and grittiness,&#8221; head coach <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/sports\/fc-dallas\/article\/dallas-trinity-fc-lee-nguyen-new-manager-22331105.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lee Nguyen<\/a> said after the match. &#8220;I\u2019m very pleased and proud because we had a very similar game in the first game of the year, but this time we were able to close it out. So I\u2019m very proud of them.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The win moved Trinity FC into third place in the Gainbridge Super League standings.
