Border Casino

From sprawling gaming floors to high-stakes poker rooms, Oklahoma is booming with casinos. The Southern state is host to over 100 tribal gaming facilities, more than any other state in the United States. Gambling venues don’t have to be big and flashy in order for patrons to experience the thrill of a win, though, and Border Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma, shows that. Even with the establishment’s addition of 25,000 square feet in 2025, Border Casino isn’t the largest of casinos. Yet the facility now has more than 3,100 electronic games, two bars, and an on-site restaurant with seating for up to 136 guests. “Small but mighty'” seems fitting, as Gambling.com described it.

The website has also named Border Casino the luckiest in the state based on an analysis of Tripadvisor reviews for some of Oklahama’s most popular casinos. Border Casino came out on top, with 40.4% of its reviews containing at least one of the words “luck,” “lucky,” “win,” or “winning.” While not to be confused with stats for actual payouts, the ranking is based solely on the language used in online comments rarther than patrons’ actual odds of winning. “We didn’t know we was going to win, win, and did I say win,” said one previous guest on Google. “Great place with a great atmosphere,” said another guest on Tripadvisor.

Try your luck at Border Casino

Border Casino is very close to the Texas border, a little over an hour’s drive from Fort Worth, a Texas city known as “Where the West Begins.” The casino regularly posts jackpot wins on its Facebook page, with one machine paying out upwards of $80,000. While some patrons complain that they’ve never won or seen anyone win, others tell a different tale. An excited guest shared in a Google review that their mother hit a $13,000 jackpot, while another promised they’d be back after winning a jackpot on their first visit. Some guests even prefer Border Casino to nearby WinStar World Casino & Resort, the world’s largest casino, with one reviewer claiming Border Casino “has better odds.”

Border Casino offers plenty of ways to get lucky. As listed on 500nations.com, it has over 2,000 Class II slot machines, including 3-reel slots, video slots, and high-limit games. Approximately 18,000 square feet was added to the gaming floor, making space for 700 new machines. Games such as Ruby’s Night Out and Crazy Bill’s Gold Strike have made big payouts at the casino, keeping the good times rolling. While the casino doesn’t offer player’s cards, the venue is open 24/7, so you can try your luck at any time.

Get some extra energy to keep playing at Kitchen 35. The on-site restaurant serves tasty items such as cheeseburgers and hot honey chicken sandwiches. It also has platters, steak, and even blackened catfish. Then, you can quench your thirst at one of the casino’s two fully stocked bars. WinStar World Casino & Resort is a 5-minute drive away in case you prefer gaming at a much larger locale. Alternatively, you can take a road trip to the newly opened Coweta Casino Hotel, one of five highly anticipated casinos in 2026.
