He is only considered as a person of interest and detectives would like to speak to him.<\/p>\n<p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/screenshot-2026-09-18-151059.png\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" fetchpriority=\"auto\" width=\"932\" height=\"524\" data-v-2fe2fe3e=\"\"\/> <\/p>\n<p data-v-2fe2fe3e=\"\">(Photo courtesy of Houston Police) <\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" origination_station=\"KRIV\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-94395e58=\"\">The backstory:<\/p>\n<p data-v-94395e58=\"\">The shooting happened on Feb. 11, 2026, and was reported at around 5 a.m.<\/p>\n<p data-v-94395e58=\"\">Police were called to an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/7301+Jensen+Dr,+Houston,+TX+77093\/@29.8264814,-95.3499946,16z\/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x8640b9a8ce9019f9:0xdce15d0adb45dd5c!8m2!3d29.8253845!4d-95.3434164!16s%2Fg%2F11c4wt32c0?entry=ttu&amp;g_ep=EgoyMDI2MDkxNi4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">apartment complex on Jensen Drive,<\/a> near I-59 and Crosstimbers Street, and found Simmons shot at the scene. Paramedics then pronounced him deceased.<\/p>\n<p data-v-94395e58=\"\">Officials say two Hispanic males between 5&#8217;1&#8243;-5&#8217;8&#8243; shot the victim before leaving the scene.
