The PAC says its research is paid for by Protect and Serve Texas GPAC and is not authorized by any candidate or candidate committee.

Federal records tie Lomick to mortgage-fraud case

Federal records independently reviewed by The Dallas Express confirm that Ericka L. Flood, also known as Ericka Lomick, was charged in 2010 as part of a federal mortgage-fraud investigation in North Carolina.

The FBI identified Lomick as a mortgage broker and promoter in U.S. v. Sharreff-El, et al., case 3:10-cr-00124. Federal prosecutors charged her with one count alleging mortgage-fraud conspiracy, four counts alleging bank fraud, one count alleging money-laundering conspiracy and two counts alleging concealment money laundering.

Federal court records later identified “Ericka L. Flood, a/k/a Ericka Lomick” as the defendant in the same criminal case. A 2013 opinion from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit shows Lomick pursued a federal post-conviction challenge while incarcerated. The appeals court ultimately dismissed her appeal as untimely.

Protect and Serve Texas PAC says Lomick entered a plea agreement on January 4, 2011, admitting guilt to mortgage-fraud conspiracy, bank fraud connected to the mortgage-fraud scheme and money-laundering conspiracy. The PAC says she later received concurrent federal prison terms, including a 63-month sentence.

Federal appellate records independently confirm that Lomick challenged her conviction through a motion under 28 U.S.C. § 2255 while in federal prison.

$300,000 lien claim

Protect and Serve Texas PAC also alleges that an assistant U.S. attorney for the Western District of North Carolina filed a $300,000 lien against Lomick with the Tarrant County Clerk’s Office on January 30, 2024.

The PAC says the lien stems from a 2011 federal judgment connected to the criminal case. Its research page states that Lomick and another defendant were held jointly and severally liable for $300,000 in restitution. The Dallas Express has not independently verified the current status of the Tarrant County lien.

HD 93 appears twice on November ballot

The allegations surface as Lomick campaigns against Republican nominee Alan Blaylock for House District 93.

Voters in the district will see two HD 93 contests on November 3. The Texas Secretary of State lists both the regular general election and a special election to fill the district’s unexpired term after former state Rep. Nate Schatzline resigned. Gov. Greg Abbott ordered the special election on August 20.

Official Tarrant County results show Lomick ran unopposed in the March 3 Democratic primary and received 14,140 votes. The Texas Democratic Party currently lists her as its House District 93 candidate.

The Dallas Express previously reported on Blaylock as the Republican nominee while covering a North Texas job fair in August.

Lomick’s campaign website describes her as a leader who has worked in business operations, sales management and strategic leadership.

“Ericka is ready to lead with integrity, compassion, and results-driven action. With your support, she will fight every day to make House District 93 one of the strongest, safest, and most prosperous districts in Texas,” her campaign website says.

The Dallas Express reached out to Lomick for comment regarding her federal criminal case, prison sentence and the PAC’s lien allegation.

Ericka Lomick is the Democratic candidate for Texas House District 93 in Tarrant County. | Image via Ericka…

[10
14786,146092,116,118,117,152804,152806,122,69072,152805
post-441595","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-fort-worth","tag-alan-blaylock","tag-ericka-lomick","tag-fort-worth","tag-fort-worth-headlines","tag-fort-worth-news","tag-mortgage-fraud","tag-protect-and-serve-texas-pac","tag-tarrant-county","tag-texas-elections-2026","tag-texas-house-district-93
["GET
