{"id":44197,"date":"2025-11-11T02:36:10","date_gmt":"2025-11-11T02:36:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/44197\/"},"modified":"2025-11-11T02:36:10","modified_gmt":"2025-11-11T02:36:10","slug":"lady-mavs-return-to-action-on-tuesday-when-they-host-wyoming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/44197\/","title":{"rendered":"Lady Mavs Return To Action On Tuesday When They Host Wyoming"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n                    &#13;<br \/>\n                        Story Links&#13;<br \/>\n                        &#13;<\/p>\n<p>                     ARLINGTON, Texas \u2013\u00a0The UT Arlington women&#8217;s basketball team returns to action this Tuesday, Nov. 11, when they welcome Wyoming to the College Park Center for a 6:30 p.m. CT tipoff.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Lady Mavs are looking to pick up their first win of the 2025-26 campaign in game two of a three game homestand.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nSERIES HISTORY<br \/>\nThis will be the third all-time meeting between the two programs and first time since 1990. The all-time series is tied at one game apiece, with both getting wins on the road. This will be Wyoming&#8217;s first trip back to Arlington since 1986 when they defeated the Lady Mavs 78-68 inside Texas Hall. This will be the Cowgirls first time playing inside the College Park Center. The Lady Mavs average 71 points per game in the all-time series, putting up 142 total points in two games.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nSCOUTING WYOMING<br \/>\nThe Cowgirls are coming off a 72-39 win over Long Beach State this past Friday. Wyoming opened the\u00a0<br \/>\nseason against Saint Mary&#8217;s, dropping their season opener 56-47. The Cowgirls have two players averaging double figures in scoring, Malene Pedersen averages 14.5 ppg while Logann Alvar averages 10.5 ppg.\u00a0<br \/>\nPedersen also leads the Cowgirls in rebounding,\u00a0<br \/>\naveraging 6.5 rpg. As a team, the Cowgirls average 59.5 ppg while holding opponents to 47.5 ppg. Through two games, the Cowgirls are shooting .454 from the floor as a team.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nSTILL GETTING TO THE LINE<br \/>\nThrough two games of the 2025-26 season, the Lady Mavs are still one of the best in the conference at getting to the free throw line, averaging 22 trips to the charity stripe, the fourth best mark in the league. The Lady Mavs are the best at converting at the line in the conference, shooting 77.3-percent from the foul line which is the 58th best mark in the country. UTA averages 17 made free throws per game, the third best mark in the WAC and 58th best in the NCAA.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF<br \/>\nTrue freshman <a href=\"https:\/\/utamavs.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/kira-reynolds\/14625\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"14625\" target=\"_blank\">Kira Reynolds<\/a> made a splash in her collegiate debut, garnering her first career double-double with 15 points and 16 rebounds. This is the best start to a career in program history in recent memory. She followed up her collegiate debut with a 10 point, eight rebound and six blocks showing at home against Missouri State. Her one double-double is tied for the second best mark in the WAC and 18th nationally.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nBENCH MOB<br \/>\nThe Lady Mavs boast one of the best benches in not only the WAC, but the country as a whole in the early part of the season. UTA&#8217;s bench averages 38 points per contest, the best mark in the league and the 36th best in the nation.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nSTILL THROWING A BLOCK PARTY<br \/>\nThe Lady Mavs were one of the better shot blocking teams in the WAC last season and that is still setting up to be the trend this season as UTA averages seven blocks per game, tied for the best mark in the conference and 18th nationally. Freshman <a href=\"https:\/\/utamavs.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/kira-reynolds\/14625\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"14625\" target=\"_blank\">Kira Reynolds<\/a> leads the charge for the Lady Mavs, averaging 3.5 blocks per game, the 14th best mark nationally and second in the conference. <a href=\"https:\/\/utamavs.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/amiyah-reynolds\/14623\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"14623\" target=\"_blank\">Amiyah Reynolds<\/a> averages 1.5 blocks per game while <a href=\"https:\/\/utamavs.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/alexsyah-goudeau\/14015\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"14015\" target=\"_blank\">Alexsyah Goudeau<\/a> averages one block per game which has them both in the top 10 within the WAC.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nHOME SWEET HOME<br \/>\nThe Lady Mavs are an impressive 43-19 at home in <a href=\"https:\/\/utamavs.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/coaches\/shereka-wright\/6917\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"6917\" target=\"_blank\">Shereka Wright<\/a>&#8216;s tenure at the College Park Center, where they will play three of their first four games this season and 13 overall. Coach Wright has never had a losing record at home and went an astounding 12-1 last season which is the best winning percentage (.923) for the Lady Mavs at home since moving into the CPC back in 2012.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Lady Mavs claimed their 100th victory inside the friendly confines of the CPC last season on Jan. 20, 2024 with a victory over Abilene Christian. UTA sports a 115-70 overall record inside the CPC after their first home game of the 2025-26 season.
