He has been suspended, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ChrisYBaldwin\/status\/2101093028760834269?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">according to latest reports.<\/a> Brooks was not part of the travel team that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/college\/houston\/football\/3-houston-cougars-who-stood-out-vs-texas-tech\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">went to Lubbock <\/a>on Thursday for the Friday night game <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/college\/houston\/football\/5-immediate-takeaways-from-no-22-houston-s-heartbreaking-loss-to-no-13-texas-tech\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">against Texas Tech, <\/a>given his position on the roster. <\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-6\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"73\">Court records, <a href=\"https:\/\/abc13.com\/post\/university-houston-student-accused-assaulting-pregnant-woman\/19846754\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">according to ABC13<\/a>, show that he posted $15,000 bond on Friday and will be due back in court on Sept. 21. <\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-7\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"78\">Brooks also has a misdemeanor charge from earlier on Aug. 9 of criminal mischief. The woman who was in this altercation was different from the alleged victim in the assault charge this week. The police did not arrest Brooks in relation to the August verbal altercation until this past week. <\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-8\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7d\">&#8220;We are aware of an incident involving a Houston Football student-athlete. We take all allegations of this nature very seriously and are gathering more information,&#8221; Houston Athletics said in a media statement. <\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-9\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7i\">Brooks enrolled at UH in January of 2025 and went to Paetow High School, which is just outside Katy and about 35 miles from TDECU Stadium. He was a three-star prospect and ranked the No. 100 defensive lineman nationally according to 247Sports, as well as District 19-6A Defensive MVP as a senior. <\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-10\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7n\">Brooks redshirted in 2025 and did not see any action at all.
