{"id":442409,"date":"2026-09-20T23:46:28","date_gmt":"2026-09-20T23:46:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/442409\/"},"modified":"2026-09-20T23:46:28","modified_gmt":"2026-09-20T23:46:28","slug":"henrietta-ranch-owner-and-cattleman-wilson-scaling-dies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/442409\/","title":{"rendered":"Henrietta ranch owner and cattleman, Wilson Scaling dies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HENRIETTA (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.texomashomepage.com\/tag\/kfdx\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"1576\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">KFDX\/KJTL<\/a>) \u2014 Henrietta mourns the loss of George Wilson Scaling II, of Henrietta, cattleman and owner of the ranching company Scaling and Company, LLC.<\/p>\n<p>Scaling is a long-time supporter, trustee and event leader, notably serving as the Auction Trail Boss and a board\/life director for the North Texas Rehab Center annual fundraising auction and historic ranch rodeo events in Wichita Falls.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"720\" width=\"1280\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/scaling.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3153876 amp-wp-398e4ab\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He has served in leadership and advisory capacities such as Auction Trail Boss and Life Director, helping coordinate community volunteers, donors, and the massive multi-thousand-dollar annual charity events.<\/p>\n<p>Scaling also represented his family in Clay County by operating local land, which included Scaling and Company.<\/p>\n<p>Due to his impact on the community, he was recognized as an honorary director of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. <\/p>\n<p>Additionally, he is a former director of the Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts, a former member of the Water Conservation Implementation Task Force and a former president and former board member of the Clay County Pioneer Association.<\/p>\n<p>Scaling received a Bachelor of Science in animal husbandry from Texas Tech University and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army Reserves.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe lost [another] goodun today,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/share\/p\/1JvjuhYjzr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Frank Douthitt, A Retired Lawyer\/Judge from Henrietta, TX said in a Facebook post<\/a>. \u201cWilson took that last ride into the sunset. He\u2019s been my friend for more than 80 years. Wilson, Doc and I have been close friends for many years. Right now I\u2019m concentrating on those good times and years.
