Despite the result, Dynamo 2 still holds the upper hand in the all-time series versus Kansas City II with a 7-5-1 (W-L-D) record.<\/p>\n
Dynamo 2 finished the regular season as the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference\u00a0heading<\/a>\u00a0into the\u00a0MLS NEXT Pro 2026 Playoffs, while making history during this camping by\u00a0setting a single-season team record<\/a>\u00a0with 52 points in a season, surpassing the previous record of 49 points set during the Dos\u2019 inaugural season in 2022. He finished the season tied for fifth in the league in goals scored and as Dynamo 2\u2019s leading goal scorer.<\/p>\n SKCII took the lead in the 10th\u00a0minute when Zamir Loyo Reynaga found the bottom right corner with a left-footed shot, following a pass from Missael Rodriguez.<\/p>\n Dynamo 2 leveled the match in\u00a0first\u00a0half stoppage time when midfielder\u00a0Gilberto\u00a0Rivera\u00a0played Brummett through towards the box. The American took one touch into the box before calmly finding the bottom left corner. The play marked Rivera\u2019s second assist\u00a0of\u00a0the season.<\/p>\n The visitors retook the lead in the 58th\u00a0minute after Shane Donovan received a ball from Blaine Mabie and dribbled towards the box before finding Roriguez inside the box for the finish.<\/p>\n Brummett equalized for Houston again in the 73rd\u00a0minute after capitalizing on a loose ball inside the box. Attacker\u00a0Samir\u00a0Mohammad\u00a0began the attack and laid the ball off to defender\u00a0Vinicius\u00a0Silva, who then forced a pass toward the center of the box that was deflected by a SKCII defender.<\/p>\n SKCII scored their third and final goal in the 87th\u00a0minute when Tega Ikoba found the back of the net following a loose ball inside the box.\u00a0<\/p>\n Dynamo 2 generated their first scoring opportunity quickly in the third minute when Rivera hit the crossbar with a powerful shot from the top of the box.<\/p>\n Houston came close again three minutes later after attacker\u00a0Mattheo\u00a0Dimareli\u00a0found defender\u00a0ChibuikeUkaegbu\u00a0inside the box for a header that nearly found the inside of the far post, forcing a save from Kansas City II goalkeeper Brady Krysiewicz.<\/p>\n Goalkeeper\u00a0Roman\u00a0Kerimov\u00a0was called into action in the 22nd\u00a0minute, diving low to his right to deny Rodriguez\u2019s right-footed from inside the box. The shot stopper finished the match with three saves.<\/p>\n Midfielder\u00a0Noah\u00a0Betancourt\u00a0nearly found the back of the net in the 54th\u00a0minute after Brazilian midfielderGustavo\u00a0Dohmann\u00a0found the streaking Betancourt at the top of the box.
