Collin County has established itself as a hotbed for growth in recent years, becoming one of the fastest-growing areas<\/a> of the country and a hub of business, education, politics and people.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Local leaders will join\u00a0The Dallas Morning News at a downtown Plano event on Tuesday, Sept. 29, to explore the trajectory of growth in Collin County and North Texas.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sarah\u00a0Blaskovich<\/a>, a veteran journalist at The News who grew up in Plano, will moderate the panel, which will include:<\/p>\n

“The Future of Collin County” panel discussion will occur in the rooftop event\u00a0space of Urban Rio in downtown Plano. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the event begins at 6 p.m.<\/p>\n

Next Tuesday’s panel is a part of The News’ three-day pop-up newsroom<\/a> in downtown Plano where reporters, editors and visual journalists will work from Urban Rio on 14th Street throughout the day and host other events nearby. Residents and others in the area are invited to visit the pop-up and chat with journalists.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the newspaper\u2019s northernmost and fourth pop-up<\/a> in the past year. Born from The News\u2019 initiative to build trust<\/a> with North Texas communities, the temporary newsroom seeks to connect journalists with audiences and strengthen relationships with local media.\u00a0<\/p>\n
