{"id":443596,"date":"2026-09-22T02:30:14","date_gmt":"2026-09-22T02:30:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/443596\/"},"modified":"2026-09-22T02:30:14","modified_gmt":"2026-09-22T02:30:14","slug":"houston-livestock-show-and-rodeo-to-open-the-farm-bellaire-meyerland-west-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/443596\/","title":{"rendered":"Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to open The Farm | Bellaire &#8211; Meyerland &#8211; West University"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new agricultural complex is opening along Hwy. 288 for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rodeohouston.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The Farm will be located about three miles from Reliant Park.<\/p>\n<p>The overview<\/p>\n<p>The Farm, which stands for Furthering our Agriculture and Ranching Mission, will offer 1 million square feet to support Texas youth, agriculture, education and Western heritage, according to a Sept. 17 news release from Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. <\/p>\n<p>The complex will complement the Rodeo&#8217;s longstanding home at Reliant Park, according to the news release.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As we move toward our centennial, the groundbreaking of The Farm reflects our commitment to building not only a world-class facility, but a stronger future for Texas youth and agriculture,&#8221; said Wesley Sinor, chairman of the board of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. &#8220;The impact of what begins today will be felt for generations.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1790044213_865_.png\"  \/>The facility&#8217;s name was selected through a multi-phase naming initiative that invited Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo volunteers to submit ideas reflecting the organization&#8217;s mission, values and future vision.Courtesy Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo<\/p>\n<p>Diving in deeper<\/p>\n<p>The Farm will offer:<\/p>\n<p>About 900,000 square feet of air-conditioned space<\/p>\n<p>Over 1,100 livestock pens supporting multiple species<\/p>\n<p>Over 800 horse stalls<\/p>\n<p>About 60 wash bays and modern animal-care infrastructure<\/p>\n<p>Over 200 RV hookups for exhibitors and families<\/p>\n<p>Over 800,000 square feet of dedicated indoor agriculture and equine facilities<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s next<\/p>\n<p>Construction is ongoing as of the official groundbreaking of The Farm, which was held Sept. 17. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1790044214_278_.jpeg\"  \/>The groundbreaking took place Sept. 17.
