Tim O\u2019Hare warns Tarrant County could turn blue<\/p>\n
Republican County Judge Tim O\u2019Hare told True Texas Project members that if Tarrant County doesn\u2019t vote red in November, residents will see more crime, more homelessness and higher taxes. \u201cWe are sounding the alarm,\u201d O\u2019Hare said. His opponent, Democratic Commissioner Alisa Simmons, said in a statement she is running to govern the county with \u201ccompetent, responsible leadership\u201d and pushed back on O\u2019Hare\u2019s record on taxes, healthcare and public safety.<\/p>\n

John Cornyn called it \u201cintolerance and racism.\u201d Gov. Greg Abbott said he did not share French\u2019s message. House Speaker Dustin Burrows and state Rep. Kennedy singled out north Fort Worth City Council member Charles Lauersdorf, who wrote that \u201cconservatism doesn\u2019t require us to abandon basic decency or pretend racism becomes acceptable just because someone on our side says it.\u201d Reporters found the first two students identified in French\u2019s photo were American citizens.<\/p>\n \u00bb\u00bb Read the story, see the comments<\/a><\/p>\n Seven non-citizens charged in voter fraud case<\/p>\n Northern Texas U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould announced federal charges against seven non-citizens accused of unlawfully voting in federal elections or falsely claiming U.S. citizenship. Six of the defendants voted or registered to vote in Tarrant County; one was tied to Dallas County. Tarrant County District Attorney Phil Sorrells announced additional state charges against two more defendants. \u201cA lawful vote should never be canceled out by an unlawful vote,\u201d Sorrells said.<\/p>\n
