Tuesday marks the first day of astronomical fall<\/a>, but temperatures in North Texas will feel more like summer for a bit longer.<\/p>\n

The National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office<\/a> says Tuesday’s high will reach 95 degrees, with a heat index of 99 degrees. Temperatures are expected to remain in the mid- to high-70s until 10 a.m.<\/p>\n

Drier air is expected to settle in Dallas-Fort Worth this week, with little to no chance of rain until the weekend.<\/p>\n

“Highs will still be in the 90s for most of the area through the extended forecast period, about 5-10 degrees above normal for the first week of astronomical fall,” the weather service said in its Monday forecast.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Dallas-Fort Worth tied the second-longest dry streak<\/a> on record after seeing 67 days without measurable rainfall at DFW International Airport, as of Sept. 20. That dry streak, however, came to an official end Monday night<\/a> when the airport recorded 0.01 inches of rain.<\/p>\n
