Thanksgiving is about tradition, a day of gratitude with family or friends\u00a0that’s as much about who’s around the table as what’s on it.<\/p>\n

To help more families put food on the table, Bakery Lorraine at Pearl is hosting an Autumn Feast at 7\u00a0p.m. Nov. 20, the Thursday before Thanksgiving, to benefit the San Antonio Food Bank<\/a>. The five-course family-style dinner by chefs J’xong Harris and\u00a0Jenn Reisman will feature\u00a0applewood baked trout with mashed potatoes and braised short rib with root vegetables and parsnip pur\u00e9e. The dinner is $90 per person, $125 with wine pairing; tickets available at bakerylorraine.com<\/a>. Attendees are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item or new toys for donation.<\/p>\n

\"Bakery<\/p>\n

Bakery Lorraine’s annual holiday pies are available for pre-order through Nov. 21 at all locations. Each nine-inch pie, $35, serves 8-10 people. Choose from Whiskey Pecan made with Jack Daniels No. 7, Pumpkin Streusel Pie with roasted pumpkin and buttery crumb topping and Dutch Apple featuring five apple varieties with cinnamon streusel. Many area restaurants, including Bakery Lorraine, and companies such as Don Strange of Texas Catering<\/a> also are offering festive fare to go for holiday help at home. But if you want to skip cooking altogether and go out this year, plenty of hotels and restaurants are hosting special meals on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, including these:<\/p>\n

FORGET THE PIE: Pumpkin recipes honor Mexican heritage<\/a><\/p>\n

Ambler Texas Kitchen: Located at Hotel Contessa, the River Walk restaurant is offering a three-course prix fixe meal with seasonal starters, spice-rubbed roasted turkey with foie gras pan gravy and cranberry chutney, mesquite smoked and slow roasted Texas Akaushi prime rib, root beer glazed Klein Smokehaus<\/a> ham, blackened salmon and classic sides, plus traditional pies or cinnamon apple strudel. $85 for adults, $42 for ages 5-12. Corinne San Antonio: The Plaza San Antonio Hotel & Spa restaurant is offering a brunch buffet, $69 per adult and $17 per child, from\u00a010 a.m. to 3 p.m. and plated dinner service, $55 per person, 5 to 10\u00a0p.m. Buffet highlights include a pastry table, omelet station, carving station with turkey and honey baked ham, macaroni and cheese, green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy and cornbread muffins. Jots is offering a Cajun turkey Thanksgiving plate, $29, featuring crispy seared turkey breast, bourbon-cane syrup, andouille cornbread stuffing, roasted sweet potatoes and cranberry chipotle compote. Keystone Club’s special turkey and cornbread bites, $19, features crispy turkey and Cajun cornbread croquettes served with bourbon-cane syrup and cranberry chipotle compote, then toast to the holiday with a Senorita Santo Cocktail, $17, made with Herradura Reposado Tequila, apple juice, lemon juice and\u00a0 harvest spiced honey syrup. SEEING STARS: 3 San Antonio restaurants win Michelin stars<\/a><\/p>\n

Hotel Emma:\u00a0The Pearl hotel, which received two Michelin Keys in 2024 and 2025, is serving a Thanksgiving feast buffet from chef Geronimo Lopez and the culinary team\u00a0with a carving station and raw bar in the Elephant Cellar, the hotel’s event space. Springhouse Caf\u00e9’s holiday buffet,10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.,\u00a0will feature salads, locally sourced charcuterie, a raw bar and traditional favorites including house oak-smoked breast of tom turkey, ham, rosemary garlic oak-smoked prime rib, brioche herb stuffing and desserts such as peach and pear cobbler, pumpkin cheesecake and bourbon pecan bars. Peggy’s on the Green:\u00a0If you’ve never been to San Antonio chef Mark\u00a0Bohanan’s Southern-inspired restaurant in the historic Kendall Inn in Boerne or want to enjoy another Thanksgiving there, this is your chance. (Peggy’s on the Green<\/a> will cease operations at the\u00a0Kendall Inn at the end of November, as the hotel’s new ownership will move to in-house culinary operations.)
