CASTLE HILLS, Texas – A covert overnight police operation ended with a fiery crash, a power outage, and the arrest of a man wanted on a felony warrant, according to the Castle Hills Police Department.<\/p>\n

Police said that just before 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, an undercover Castle Hills Police detective spotted a suspicious vehicle in the 1000 block of Jackson Keller Road. The occupants appeared to be surveilling a local Castle Hills business that was closed for the evening, police said.<\/p>\n

As the detective tried to make contact, police said the driver fled northbound on Jackson Keller Road at a high rate of speed. Near the intersection of Loop 410, the driver lost control and crashed into a utility pole, causing a large power outage and leaving the surrounding area in darkness. Police said sparks from the crash could be seen for a mile.<\/p>\n

The driver ran from the crash but was quickly arrested after a foot pursuit involving the detective and a patrol officer, police said. The vehicle caught fire but was extinguished by the Castle Hills Fire Department.<\/p>\n

Police said a female passenger was seriously injured in the crash after being thrown into the windshield. She was taken to an area trauma center, where police said she is currently receiving treatment.<\/p>\n

The driver was identified as 40-year-old Sahara Orece Deleon Greer. Police said Greer was wanted on a felony arrest warrant for Assault-Family Member-Strangulation and has a lengthy criminal history. Police said he now faces additional felony charges stemming from the crash.<\/p>\n

No bystanders were injured, police said. Greer is in the Bexar County Jail on a $150,000 bond.<\/p>\n

The Castle Hills Police Department said the incident happened during a tactic known as \u201cDirected Patrol,\u201d in which detectives work covertly in unmarked vehicles during overnight hours to identify criminal activity, apprehend offenders and deter crime. Police also said Directed Patrol operations earlier in the week led to the arrests of a mail thief \u201ccaught in the act\u201d and a suspected vehicle burglar who was caught while setting up to commit a crime in Castle Hills.<\/p>\n
