“This is an incredible opportunity for our students to experience what it means to make music alongside professional musicians,” said Michael Garasi, UMHB professor and director of the Wind Ensemble. “They’re not only performing with outstanding musicians, but they’re also learning from them, listening to them, and experiencing firsthand the level of musicianship and collaboration that makes a great ensemble.”

Garasi brings extensive international experience to his work with UMHB’s student musicians. He has served as principal conductor of the internationally acclaimed Brass Band of Battle Creek since 2013 and has been recognized around the world for his work in the brass band community.
