Ted Brown, the Libertarian in the race, polled at 3%.

Breaking voters down into different racial and gender groups shows where both leading candidates are having the most support.

Among white voters, Paxton is leading Talarico 56% to 37%, while Talarico is leading Paxton among Black voters 87% to 10% and Latino voters 57% to 38%.

By gender, Talarico leads with women 53% to 42% and Paxton leads with men 51% to 42%.

For the Texas gubernatorial race, Republican incumbent Greg Abbott is leading Democratic hopeful Gina Hinojosa 49% to 45%. Once again, 4% of likely voters said they were still unsure who they intended to vote for. Libertarian Pat Dixon polled at 2%.

The poll showed a similar breakdown for this race in terms of racial and gender group support.

Abbott leads among white voters 59% to 35%, while Hinojosa leads with Latino and Black voters, 57% to 40% and 80% to 13%, respectively. Hinojosa leads among women with 51% to 44% and Abbott leads with men, 54% to 39%.

Looking at likely voters through a partisan lens for both of these statewide races highlights a small break within the Republican Party.

Among Democratic voters, 98% said they intend to vote for Hinojosa and 99% of them said they intend to vote for Talarico.

However, things were not as solid among Republican voters for both Paxton and Abbott.

For Paxton, only 84% of Republicans said they intend to vote for him, with 7% of likely GOP voters intending to go to the other side and cast their ballots for Talarico.

On the gubernatorial side of things, 88% of Republicans said they intend to vote for Abbott, while 6% intend to vote on the blue side.

Copyright 2026 KSWO.
