This comes after several areas of the airport were temporarily closed and marked with “wet floor” signs due to water leaking into the building.

A spokesperson with the El Paso Airport confirmed the leaks, but reported that this did not affect travel.

“El Paso International Airport experienced some leaks due to the rainfall. Crews responded, and the affected areas have been cleaned and cleared. The terminal remains open and operational. Travelers are encouraged to arrive early and check directly with their airline for the latest flight information and any potential rain-related delays,” the spokesperson said.

Emergency crews with the El Paso Fire Department were dispatched to the airport for a “technical rescue.” A spokesperson with EPFD said no injuries were reported and the situation has turned over to the airport.

KTSM has reached out to the El Paso Police Department and the City of El Paso for a statement on the ceiling affecting any flights. As of this report, we have not heard back
