Police in Plano are seeking five suspects in thefts that hit the Shops at Willow Bend, costing businesses thousands of dollars.<\/p>\n
The department is asking for help in locating and\/or identifying the suspects who illegally entered stores inside the Willow Bend Mall, according to a post on Facebook earlier this week. They broke into the mall on Sept. 14 between 12:19 a.m. and 1:30 a.m.<\/p>\n
The suspects gained entry through a door near\u00a0Neiman Marcus from the parking garage. At the first business, filming equipment worth about $8,000 was stolen along with approximately $700 in cash, as a glass door was shattered, the post said.<\/p>\n
At the second business, cash and cutlery merchandise were stolen, totaling over $50,000\u00a0while a lock on a door was cut. Additional damage was done while the suspects ransacked the office, the post said.<\/p>\n
While the businesses were not named in the post, The Dallas Morning News reported earlier this month<\/a> Pipe & Palette and Cutlery Collection were hit by thefts in that time frame at the mall.<\/p>\n The thefts come after the\u00a0retail presence at the mall has decreased ahead of\u00a0a\u00a0planned redevelopment<\/a> that would make the site a new home for the Dallas Stars<\/a>, the National Hockey League team.
