Get ready to (hopefully) breeze along Northeast Loop 820 and Airport Freeway to DFW Airport. The $414 million highway project<\/a> that began in 2023 along the corridor is now complete.<\/p>\n

Thursday, Sept. 24, marks the first day commuters have access to the new lanes.<\/p>\n

The highway revamp, which will aid in a shorter travel time to the airport<\/a>, was originally supposed to wrap up in early 2027. An emailed press release said TEXpress Highways completed construction months ahead of schedule.<\/p>\n

The project expanded 10 miles of the Texas 183\/121 (Airport Freeway) and Loop 820 corridors between Euless and Fort Worth.<\/p>\n

A general purpose lane was added in each direction on Northeast Loop 820 between Riverside Drive in Fort Worth and Texas 26 in North Richland Hills.<\/p>\n

Toll lanes in each direction were added along Airport Freeway between Bedford-Euless Road in North Richland Hills and Industrial Boulevard in Euless.<\/p>\n

The project was funded by toll revenues from drivers.<\/p>\n
