San Antonio drivers dealing with the seemingly never-ending Loop 1604 construction will soon have another change to get used to.<\/p>\n
The eastbound Loop 1604 exit ramp to Judson Road will permanently close beginning Monday, September 28, weather permitting as construction continues along the highway, according to a Texas Department of Transportation news release.<\/p>\n
The trip to Judson Road will look a little different once the ramp closes.\u00a0<\/p>\n
TxDOT says drivers should take the O\u2019Connor Road exit and stay on the eastbound Loop 1604 frontage road. From there, they can continue through the O\u2019Connor Road intersection and head toward Judson Road.<\/p>\n
The change is part of ramp construction in the area, with the current Judson Road exit being removed to make way for ongoing work.<\/p>\n
While the current ramp is closing for good, a replacement is on the way.<\/p>\n
A new eastbound Loop 1604 exit to Judson Road will be built in a different spot. Drivers will have to wait a bit, though, as TxDOT expects the new ramp to open sometime in spring 2027, according to the release.<\/p>\n
The work comes as TxDOT continues to make way in its Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, which has brought several closures and traffic changes to San Antonio\u2019s Northside. Drivers should keep an eye out for detour signs once the ramp closes Monday.<\/p>\n
