A truck struck a bridge over Interstate 35 in South Austin early Friday morning, shutting down the highway and adding a headache for some drivers on their commute.<\/p>\n
I-35 southbound at Onion Creek Parkway was initially closed after the bridge strike, according to the Austin Police Department. Police said shortly before 5:45 a.m. in a post on X that there were no reported injuries and crews were waiting for a safety clearance before reopening the highway.<\/p>\n
By about 6:20 a.m., one southbound lane had been reopened, police said. Drivers were still encouraged to find an alternate route as work continued at the scene.<\/p>\n
The incident was one of at least two crashes affecting Austin drivers Friday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n
