{"id":449421,"date":"2026-09-27T16:30:08","date_gmt":"2026-09-27T16:30:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/449421\/"},"modified":"2026-09-27T16:30:08","modified_gmt":"2026-09-27T16:30:08","slug":"eaa-notice-stage-iii-critical-legal-notices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/449421\/","title":{"rendered":"EAA Notice Stage III Critical | Legal Notices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                                                        NOTICE OF COMMENCEMENT STAGE III CRITICAL PERIOD<br \/>\nFOR SAN ANTONIO POOL<br \/>\nThe purpose of this notice is to advise Edwards Aquifer (Aquifer) groundwater withdrawal permit<br \/>\nholders that the General Manager of the Edwards Aquifer Authority (EAA) determined that the<br \/>\ncriteria for declaring Stage III of the EAA Critical Period Management Plan (CPM) have been<br \/>\nsatisfied. The General Manager hereby gives notice of implementation of Stage III of the CPM in<br \/>\nthe San Antonio Pool effective September 21, 2026. When water levels of the Aquifer or<br \/>\nspringflows of Comal Springs or San Marcos Springs decline below certain levels, the CPM<br \/>\nrequires reductions in withdrawals from the Aquifer. This plan is designed to slow the rate of<br \/>\ndecline of Aquifer levels or springflows. During a stage of the CPM, a permit holder\u2019s<br \/>\ngroundwater withdrawal amount authorized within an Initial Regular Permit is adjusted downward<br \/>\nby the calculations in \u00a7 715.218 of the EAA rules. For the San Antonio Pool, permitted withdrawal<br \/>\namounts are reduced by 35% during Stage III.<br \/>\nIn accordance with EAA rules, once per calendar year, irrigators may claim an exemption from<br \/>\ncritical period reductions so they can finish irrigating a crop already planted. To take advantage<br \/>\nof this exemption, an irrigator must demonstrate that irrigation of the crop through harvest would<br \/>\nrequire the irrigator to exceed his or her reduced permitted groundwater withdrawal amount.<br \/>\nPersons finishing out a crop may file a Notice of Intent to Finish Out a Crop with the EAA at any<br \/>\ntime during the calendar year; however, such a form shall not be filed after December 1st. See<br \/>\nEAA RULES \u00a7 715.219. These notice forms are available on the EAA website at<br \/>\nwww.edwardsaquifer.org, or may be obtained by requesting a copy.
