Georgia, coming off a convincing win over Oklahoma and outscoring opponents by an average of 41.5 points per game, got six first-place votes, double its number last week. Miami and Indiana each received one first-place vote.

Seven ranked teams, including Texas A&M, lost in Week 4 and four dropped out of the poll. No. 24 Kentucky followed its win at Texas A&M last week with an easy victory at South Alabama to earn its first ranking since 2023.

The Big 12’s five ranked teams are the most since the conference had the same number ranked Oct. 26, 2025. It’s just the sixth time in the 2020s the Big 12 has had that many in the Top 25.

And the big riser was Florida, the Gators’ 24-point win over then-No. 4 Mississippi earning them a 13-rung promotion to No. 8, their highest ranking since 2020 and first top-10 appearance since 2021.

See the full top 25 below. First-place votes are in parentheses.

Others receiving votes: Wisconsin 102, Duke 101, Penn State 98, Wake Forest 88, Virginia Tech 86, Michigan 54, Pittsburgh 52, Nebraska 36, Louisville 25, Cincinnati 20, James Madison 10, Arizona 8, Minnesota 7, North Dakota State 6, Northwestern 1

Lia Assimakopoulos’ top 25 ballot

• Florida makes big jump: The Gators are off to a hot start in the Jon Sumrall era, winning their first four games and pulling off a massive 52-28 upset of No. 4 Ole Miss. The Gators earned a spot in my top-10 and will have a chance to earn another resume-building win when they face a Missouri team fresh off a loss next week. The loss bumped Ole Miss down a few spots, but I had to keep the Rebels ahead of LSU because they hold the head-to-head advantage.
• 4-0 teams enter the rankings: I added two new 4-0 teams to my rankings this week: UCLA and Virginia Tech. UCLA has beaten three power-conference teams and just destroyed Maryland on the road. UCLA was just a 1.5-point favorite but beat Maryland by 51 points. The James Franklin era is off to a strong start at Virginia Tech with the Hokies now sitting at 4-0 with two wins over power-conference teams. They’ll face their first real test against an undefeated Pitt team next week.
• SMU moves up slightly: The Mustangs didn’t play well against Missouri State, but they moved up slightly in my rankings simply because of movement around them with other teams losing. The team they lost to, Louisville, dropped out only because the Cardinals now have two losses after falling to Wake Forest and Ole Miss compared to SMU’s one. But SMU will need to play better moving forward to keep a spot in the top-25.

While four new teams joined the rankings via a major shuffle in this week’s AP Top 25 college…

[6
27,29,28,144221,99583,95969,88146
post-449519","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-texas","tag-texas","tag-texas-headlines","tag-texas-news","tag-tp-college-football","tag-tp-smu-mustangs","tag-tp-texas-a-m-aggies","tag-tp-texas-longhorns
["GET
