Jennifer Hardman and Kat Stevens joined thousands of hard-to-miss Savannah Bananas enthusiasts — decked out in bright yellow, banana-shaped fan gear — that crowded Arlington’s Globe Life Field Sunday afternoon.

Hardman and Stevens stood in the mezzanine’s front row wearing banana costumes with added glitter, feathers and props. The women, both from Dallas, said they threw their outfits together Sunday morning; Hardman dressed as The Greatest Showman and Stevens dressed as a showgirl.

“This is the greatest show,” Hardman said, gesturing towards the field.

They bought tickets just two days before the Bananas game against the Texas Tailgaters, when Hardman realized the team was in town.

“They’re just so uplifting to everyone,” Stevens said. “What I love is that there’s so much laughter, and [the game] is all about spreading joy.”

“We have to just let our inner child flow sometimes,” Hardman added. “It’s all about the show and having fun with it.”

Stevens said it’s beautiful that the Bananas aren’t afraid to try anything and are showing fans “their authentic selves.” It was Stevens and Hardman’s first time seeing the Bananas live, but they both said they’d be back.

The Bananas are known for their entertainment-like baseball games, where some players wear stilts, perform choreographed dances, do back flips, or complete trick plays during plays. The team had their first game in 2016 and started playing year round “Banana Ball” in 2022.

“If [the Bananas] can do all that on the field, then we can dress in costumes and have fun with it,” Stevens said.

For 35-year Arlington resident and Bananas fan JJ Lindmark, seeing the talented performances live is the best part of the games. He’s been following the Bananas since they started playing in Savannah, Ga., and his first time seeing them live was in Houston.

Lindmark’s attendance at Sunday’s game was pure luck, he said, as his mother-in-law had recently won a Banana Ball ticket lottery.

The Bananas also played against the Tailgaters, who made their on-field debut in 2025, on Friday and Saturday. For anyone who’s a baseball fan and has never seen the Bananas play, Lindmark said they’re a must-watch.

“All of the stunts they do, the athletic ability the players have,” he added with a smile. “They play good baseball.”

Jennifer Hardman and Kat Stevens joined thousands of hard-to-miss Savannah Bananas enthusiasts — decked out in bright yellow, banana-shaped…

[13
150,152,151,732,118634,87907,154741
post-449645","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-arlington","tag-arlington","tag-arlington-headlines","tag-arlington-news","tag-article","tag-sportsmedia","tag-tp-arlington","tag-tp-baseball-sport
["GET
