SAN ANTONIO – Bexar County election officials are working to fix a voter registration problem after what\u2019s being described as a state system error prevented tens of thousands of online applications from being fully processed.<\/p>\n

The county elections administrator said more than 45,000 online applications submitted through the Texas Department of Public Safety did not fully transfer into the state\u2019s system.<\/p>\n

Bexar County\u2019s Elections Department said it is reviewing each application and extending hours to make sure records are updated before early voting.<\/p>\n

State Sen. Jose Menendez raised concerns on social media that the applications have not yet been sent to their respective county elections offices as the state approaches a major general election this November.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am concerned these tens of thousands of new voters will not have an opportunity to have their voices heard and votes counted this fall,\u201d Menendez wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cGiven the severity of this situation, I am requesting complete assurance these voters will have their votes counted,\u201d he added. Menendez also requested an investigation into DPS.<\/p>\n
