{"id":451541,"date":"2026-09-29T22:42:10","date_gmt":"2026-09-29T22:42:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/451541\/"},"modified":"2026-09-29T22:42:10","modified_gmt":"2026-09-29T22:42:10","slug":"houston-gas-prices-rise-to-3-87-per-gallon-as-national-average-falls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/451541\/","title":{"rendered":"Houston gas prices rise to $3.87 per gallon as national average falls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Houston drivers are paying more at the pump this week, with average gas prices rising nearly four cents per gallon even as the national average declined slightly, according to\u00a0GasBuddy.<\/p>\n<p>According to GasBuddy, which tracks fuel prices nationwide <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gasbuddy.com\/\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">and helps drivers find cheaper prices locally, <\/a>average gasoline prices in Houston rose 3.7 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.87 per gallon Monday.\u00a0GasBuddy based its figures on a survey of 2,559 stations in Houston.<\/p>\n<p>Conversely, the national average price of gasoline fell 1.6 cents per gallon in the last week, according to GasBuddy. The national average price per gallon Monday was $4.42.<\/p>\n<p>The Houston increase comes as prices have risen more than 35 cents per gallon locally and nationally over the past month, putting more pressure on drivers&#8217; budgets. Houstonians are paying $1.25 more per gallon on average than they were a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>Gov. Greg Abbott on Monday announced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonchronicle.com\/politics\/texas\/article\/abbott-diesel-costs-22453021.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">he would lift restrictions on dyed diesel<\/a> to help ease high fuel prices.
