The U.S. men\u2019s national team brought in a dozen new faces<\/a> for its first camp after the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and among the newcomers is Houston-born forward Cole Campbell.<\/p>\n Campbell, 20, spent the early years of his life in Houston before moving away, first to Georgia and then Iceland. Campbell then spent years in the youth system of Borussia Dortmund, where talents such as Jude Bellingham, Christian Pulisic and Erling Haaland spent\u00a0some of the early years<\/a> of their careers.<\/p>\n Now he\u2019s a starter for a German Bundesliga squad off to a hot start to the season and in the mix for the U.S. men\u2019s national team going forward.<\/p>\n Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n He wasn’t on the bench Tuesday night for the\u00a0USMNT’s matchup versus Chile in St. Louis but the U.S. has matches over the next week versus Mexico and Canada.
