HOUSTON, Texans (KTRK) — Alexus Williams,<\/a> the woman convicted of planning the execution-style murder of a family of three, was sentenced to 40 years in prison, according to court records.<\/p>\n

Williams reportedly accepted a plea deal, which led to an additional charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon being dropped. She was initially charged with three counts of capital murder in the deaths of Donyavia Lagway, Gregory Carhee, and their six-year-old daughter Harmony Carhee, who were found shot and killed at their southeast Houston apartment on June 30, 2021.<\/p>\n

Court records said Williams had been in a relationship with Lagway, but they broke up weeks before the shooting.<\/p>\n

According to court records, Williams conspired with her childhood friend Xavier Davis by reportedly telling him there was cash inside the apartment. Davis was the person who police said pulled the trigger while Williams was on FaceTime, watching the incident unfold.<\/p>\n

Houston Police Department officers responded to the 12100 block of Fondren near West Airport and found the three victims. Officials said the couple’s 10-year-old daughter and 1-year-old baby boy were also in the apartment. The 10-year-old had been shot, but an officer said she played dead and called her grandmother for help, who then called police. Officers said the injured girl told her grandmother that the suspect was wearing a mask and lined each of the victims up before shooting them in the head.<\/p>\n

The youngest was not injured and the couple’s eight-year-old son was away from the apartment with his uncle at the time.<\/p>\n

Davis, who was 28 at the time, was arrested on an unrelated family violence charge a few days after the murders. He was charged with capital murder and immediately denied bond. In April 2025, he was sentenced to death. <\/a><\/p>\n

Eight months later, Williams was arrested and charged with capital murder as well. Her bond was denied, and she was ordered to stay away from the victims’ family after it was revealed that she attended the funerals.<\/p>\n

New court records show there will be victim impact statements in response to Williams’ sentencing on Oct. 2, 2026.<\/p>\n
