Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar<\/a> is coming to Plano for a three-day collaboration with Jashan<\/a>, featuring a different dining experience each night from Oct. 3-5.<\/p>\n Kochhar, a prominent figure in modern Indian fine dining, made history in 2001 when London\u2019s Tamarind earned a Michelin star, making him the first Indian chef to receive the distinction. He later opened Benares in London, which earned a Michelin star in 2007.<\/p>\n His Plano visit will bring him into the kitchen with Jashan founder and chef Prasanna Singaraju, who has cited Kochhar as an influence on his own approach to Indian cuisine.<\/p>\n The collaboration begins Saturday, Oct. 3, when Kochhar takes over Jashan\u2019s tasting-menu experience with an exclusive seven-course menu. The dinner will replace the restaurant\u2019s usual Jashan 101 and Taste of India tasting menus for the evening and costs $140 per person, plus tax and gratuity.<\/p>\n On Sunday, Oct. 4, Jashan will host \u201c10 Hands \u2014 The Sunday Supper,\u201d featuring Kochhar alongside chefs Akshraj Jodha, Ashish Bhasin, Ramesh Thangaraj and Singaraju. The five chefs will create a family-style menu emphasizing the communal traditions of Indian dining. The dinner is limited to 60 guests, with tickets priced at $160 per person, plus tax and gratuity.<\/p>\n The weekend concludes Monday, Oct. 5, with \u201cDil Se \u2014 Chef Atul Kochhar \u00d7 Chef Prasanna.\u201d Kochhar and Singaraju will collaborate on the weekend\u2019s smallest dinner, limited to 20 guests for a single seating. \u201cDil Se,\u201d which translates to \u201cfrom the heart,\u201d will feature a menu inspired by the chefs\u2019 respective culinary journeys and Singaraju\u2019s longtime admiration for Kochhar. Tickets are $225 per person, plus tax and gratuity.<\/p>\n
