The first wave of 100 artists to test the reorganized<\/a> waters of South by Southwest 2026 has been announced. Film, tech, and music festival programming will run concurrently this year at clubhouses across Downtown March 12-18.<\/p>\n

Oklahoma-bred Aughts pop-punk act All-American Rejects, whose House Party Tour caught the attention of media outlets<\/a> prior to their Oct. 24 EP release Eggshell Tap Dancer, will kick off the Music Festival Opening Party at Stubb\u2019s Amphitheater on Thursday, March 12.\u00a0<\/p>\n

New international acts on the showcase stages will include electrobending Irish post-punk rockers Chalk, Mexico City-based indie rock project La Texana, Copenhagen bedroom psych producer Fine, and socially conscious Indonesian pop-rock trio Grrrl Gang, who performed in 2021\u2019s online-only version of the festival.\u00a0<\/p>\n

L.A.-based live coding experimenter DJ_Dave and Grammy-nominated rapper Joyner Lucas will also play, as will Nug, Being Dead\u2019s Portland, Oregon, tourmates.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After many years of sharing a calendar date with SXSW programming, Willie Nelson\u2019s Luck Reunion<\/a> will be an official presenter this year. Dream Con \u2013 a gaming, anime, and music convention created to uplift Black creators in those spaces \u2013 will also host an official showcase, as will local festival series R&B Block Party.<\/p>\n

Ukrainian rap group Kalush Orchestra are the only out-of-town SXSW alumni announced so far, but Texas music fans will recognize Houston\u2019s Aaron Page, who played ACL this past October, and Dallas-based country songwriter Joshua Ray Walker, who performed at ACL back in 2022<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Austin acts include indie rockers Elijah Delgato, Montclair, Commercial Breaks, and Grocery Bag<\/a>, plus their more raucous companions Bubba Lucky and Gus Baldwin & the Sketch<\/a>. Experimental electronic artists Bayonne and buffalo_farm will perform, as will club DJ Just Jim, rapper J Soulja,<\/a> country-inspired songwriter Calder Allen<\/a>, OUTlaw Pride Festival founder Julie Nolen, Southern rock group the Red Eye Gamblers, and queer country trio Next of Kin<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n
