If you woke up Thursday morning wondering, “where is the\u00a0rain<\/a>?,” well it’s still headed to San Antonio. According to the National Weather Service, heavy rain is forecasted to hit the area between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. Thursday morning. Forecasters say the activity has slowed down as it makes its way East towards San Antonio. That means the afternoon could likely see the most rainfall.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As of 6 a.m. Thursday, NWS says the storms were focused around the Edwards Plateau and the western Hill Country.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Storms capable of producing flooding and flash flooding continue a gradual eastward shift with time across the southern Edwards Plateau and Hill Country. Isolated storms have also started to develop over portions of the I-35 Corridor and Coastal Plains,” NWS said.<\/p>\n

A flood watch<\/a> remains in effect for the San Antonio area until 7 p.m. Friday, October 2.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Chances for heavy rain and flash flooding are highest Today into Friday. Widespread rainfall amounts of 1 to 4 inches with isolated higher amounts up to 8 inches are possible. Monitor trusted sources for forecast updates, and do not try to cross flooded roadways; turn around don’t drown,” NWS said.<\/p>\n

San Antonio school districts<\/a> are operating as normal on October 1. However, many districts said they will monitor conditions throughout the day on Thursday.\u00a0Alamo College District is the only one with a delayed start until 10 a.m.<\/p>\n

“Due to weather, Alamo Colleges District hours October 1, will be 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Classes and events scheduled outside these hours are canceled,” their website states<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"If you woke up Thursday morning wondering, “where is the\u00a0rain?,” well it’s still headed to San Antonio.
