After weeks of active weather, a departing weather system will finally move northeast tonight, bringing cooler air and a chance for light showers to the region.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" fetchpriority=\"low\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"KCBD\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/TEH7NJRFLFD67ELLM2BYEVO2WA.PNG\" width=\"980\" height=\"571\" \/>KCBD(KCBD)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Temperatures will remain pleasant Thursday, with highs ranging from the low 70s to mid 80s across the region. Northerly winds will build in behind the cold front Thursday night, with gusts reaching up to 30 mph at times. Tonight into Friday morning, cloud cover will increase with a few light showers possible.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" fetchpriority=\"low\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"KCBD\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/LFF7CGM7YJEPZMQYTTN6AIDOPM.PNG\" width=\"980\" height=\"520\" \/>KCBD(KCBD)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Friday will bring a dramatic cooldown. High temperatures across much of the Caprock are expected to drop into the 60s \u2014 the first time since mid-May that Lubbock will see highs in that range. The transition will be noticeable, with temperatures falling from Thursday\u2019s mild conditions to the mid 60s to mid 70s Friday. Northerly winds will continue Friday with gusts up to 30 mph.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" fetchpriority=\"low\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"KCBD\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/EHLY5ZZQTVFRJP63Y5E7Z7IPXA.PNG\" width=\"980\" height=\"525\" \/>KCBD(KCBD)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Friday will remain mostly cloudy with some lingering showers expected throughout the day.
