SAN ANTONIO
\n \u2013 The San Antonio Spurs and Methodist Healthcare are celebrating 10 years of partnership by giving a special gift to some of San Antonio\u2019s newest residents.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, the organizations announced that a limited-edition co-branded blanket will be given to newborns at Methodist Healthcare hospitals this year, while supplies last. <\/p>\n
The giveaway marks a decade of collaboration between the Spurs, Methodist Healthcare and Spurs Sports & Entertainment.<\/p>\n
Methodist Healthcare serves as the official healthcare system of the San Antonio Spurs and San Antonio FC, according to a release.<\/p>\n
The partnership has supported community over the past 10 years through health programs, youth initiatives, hospital visits and family-focused events across the region.<\/p>\n
Both organizations said their work together has included the Spurs Ball Kid Program, in-game baby races, Spurs summer youth basketball camps, leadership development opportunities and educational outreach for young people.<\/p>\n
Spurs players, coaches and team representatives also have visited Methodist Healthcare facilities over the years, bringing encouragement to patients, families and health care workers.<\/p>\n
The partnership has extended beyond hospitals through cancer awareness campaigns, Heart Month events and Hands-Only CPR training. <\/p>\n
Both groups also have partnered on holiday programs, school supply drives and health awareness initiatives across South Texas.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor the past decade, our partnership with Spurs Sports & Entertainment has been about a shared commitment to South Texas,\u201d said Dan Miller, president and CEO of Methodist Healthcare. <\/p>\n
