{"id":454581,"date":"2026-10-02T20:20:07","date_gmt":"2026-10-02T20:20:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/454581\/"},"modified":"2026-10-02T20:20:07","modified_gmt":"2026-10-02T20:20:07","slug":"epa-expands-two-dredged-material-disposal-sites-off-corpus-christi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/454581\/","title":{"rendered":"EPA expands two dredged-material disposal sites off Corpus Christi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has expanded two offshore sites for dredged-material disposal near Corpus Christi, Texas, under a final rule issued September 28 that takes effect October 28.<\/p>\n<p>The rule expands the Corpus Christi Ship Channel site from 0.61 to 1.05 square nautical miles, while the Corpus Christi New Work site grows from 1.39 to 5.57 square nautical miles. The former\u2019s expansion is southwestward; the latter\u2019s extends in four directions.<\/p>\n<p>Both sites lie 1.7\u20132.7 nautical miles offshore in water depths of 35\u201355 feet. EPA said the changes will provide long-term disposal capacity for suitable material dredged from the Corpus Christi Bay area.<\/p>\n<p>EPA said the expansion does not approve disposal from individual projects.
