Fast Facts

The result marked Georgia’s (4-3-5, 1-1-3) first win in conference action this season while Texas A&M (4-8-0, 0-5-0) remained winless in SEC play. Moreover, the Bulldogs have now won five straight against the Aggies, Georgia’s longest current winning streak versus an SEC opponent.

Texas A&M opened the scoring just before halftime after sophomore forward Ciara Jade Mitchell slotted a shot into the bottom right corner in the 40th minute.

Down at the break, head coach Keidane McAlpine‘s side believed they had a chance to equalize in the 58th minute after being awarded a penalty until a video review overturned the decision. 10 minutes later, after a foul in the 18-yard box by Aggie defender Hattie Patterson, Staude placed her effort down the left side to level the match with her first goal of the season.

Georgia took the lead in the match off Glover’s right-footed, unassisted finish into the top right corner of the net in the 68th minute to score her second goal this year.

Aggie head coach Bobby Shuttleworth was sent off in the 78th minute after receiving a second yellow for unsporting behavior.

The Bulldogs held off late Texas A&M pressure to secure the win. In the result, fifth-year goalkeeper Jordan Brown made six saves. Glover and Staude led the Bulldogs with four shots apiece.

The win also marked Georgia’s first win this season when trailing at halftime and the first time the Bulldogs have achieved that feat since defeating the Aggies, 3-2 (2OT), in the 2023 SEC Tournament semifinals.
