ROUND ROCK, Texas \u2013 The Concordia Texas men’s soccer team opened SCAC play with a 1-0 victory over Austin College on Friday at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After a scoreless first half, Lorenzo Maule<\/a> broke through in the 59th minute. Joseph Perez<\/a> fired a shot on goal that ricocheted off the Austin College goalkeeper, allowing Maule to put away the rebound and give the Tornados a 1-0 advantage.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Tornados finished even with Austin College at 11 shots apiece while putting five attempts on goal. Perez recorded two shots on goal, while Jesse Garfias<\/a>, Andres Munoz<\/a> and Maule each added one.<\/p>\n

Leonel Cuellar<\/a> preserved the clean sheet with four saves in 90 minutes, including a clutch\u00a0late stop in the 88th minute.<\/p>\n

Concordia Texas will next remain at home where they will host LeTourneau this Sunday. Kickoff is set for 12pm with Alumni Day festivities beginning at 11am.<\/p>\n
