A familiar San Antonio\u00a0chef is bringing a new cafe concept to Hemisfair, a year after a beloved tap house closed its doors there.<\/p>\n
Chef Rene Fernandez is opening Park @ 510 Deli and Market at the Pereida House on Wednesday, according to CultureMap San Antonio<\/a>.\u00a0The historic home, previously the site of K\u00fcnstler\u00a0Tap Haus, is at 510 S. Alamo St., near Hemisfair’s Yanaguana Garden.<\/p>\n Fernandez is the chef behind two Southtown mainstays:\u00a0Azuca Nuevo Latino, which opened in 2003,\u00a0and Hola!, which opened in 2022 just across the street from Hemisfair.<\/p>\n Park @ 510 Deli and Market will offer panini, salads, bowls, charcuterie, fresh juice and smoothies with Fernandez’s signature fusion of seafood and Tex-Mex.<\/p>\n “We brought together the warmth of a classic deli and the energy of a modern market \u2014 a place for a quick bite between park visits or a long, easy lunch,” the restaurant’s website<\/a> says.<\/p>\n Starters and sides include ceviche, shrimp cocktail, guacamole, gourmet potato chips and pasta salad. The charcuterie menu offers a small or large board with choice of meat and cheese.<\/p>\n Those in search of a heartier meal can choose from a\u00a0wide variety of hot and cold panini. The menu includes classic Italian staples, as well as dishes inspired by Tex-Mex flavors, like Southwest\u00a0Cheesesteak and Chicken Quesadilla. Bowl options range from the Tuna Poke Bowl to the San Antonio Chicken Bowl.<\/p>\n Customers can also stop by for the restaurant’s fruter\u00eda, which will offer cups of seasonal fruit.<\/p>\n The restaurant is taking over the former space of\u00a0K\u00fcnstler Brewing\u2019s Tap Haus, which said goodbye to its Hemisfair location<\/a> in October 2025. Ownership said years of construction along South Alamo and the newly renamed Durango Boulevard (formerly known as C\u00e9sar E. Ch\u00e1vez Boulevard) pushed away customers.<\/p>\n Hemisfair is drawing renewed attention amid plans to build a new Spurs arena at the downtown park,\u00a0but the new chapter hasn’t come without challenges.
