{"id":455769,"date":"2026-10-04T02:02:08","date_gmt":"2026-10-04T02:02:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/455769\/"},"modified":"2026-10-04T02:02:08","modified_gmt":"2026-10-04T02:02:08","slug":"man-accused-of-firing-at-officers-in-lake-worth-before-hours-long-barricade-police-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/455769\/","title":{"rendered":"Man accused of firing at officers in Lake Worth before hours-long barricade, police say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man who opened fire from inside a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/texas\/tag\/lake-worth\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Lake Worth<\/a> home and barricaded himself for several hours was arrested Saturday without anyone being injured, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Anthony Danenza, 40, faces multiple felony charges, including nine counts of aggravated assault on a peace officer and four counts of deadly conduct, according to the Fort Worth Police Department, which assisted in the response.<\/p>\n<p>Lake Worth police responded to a welfare concern in the 4200 block of Canyon Trail just after 11:30 a.m., where officers encountered Danenza in the front yard.<\/p>\n<p>Police say he went back inside, grabbed a handgun, fired from inside the home, and barricaded himself. Officers established a safety perimeter around the residence, and the Fort Worth Police Department SWAT team responded to assist.<\/p>\n<p>      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/lakeworth.png#.webp\" alt=\"lakeworth.png \" height=\"401\" width=\"620\" class=\" lazyload\"  loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                CBS News Texas<\/p>\n<p>After several hours, officers took Danenza into custody. No officers or residents were injured.<\/p>\n<p>Fort Worth police are leading the investigation.
