He opened Copps Pizza Company, a sit-down bar and grill serving pizza, wings and burgers, in Nebraska before moving to Texas. Copp calls it \u201cthe American meal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnless you\u2019re going to add in tacos, there\u2019s not much that beats wings, pizza and burgers,\u201d Copp said. \u201cWe were doing them at the bar and grill, and I was like, \u2018Why can\u2019t we make this a fast-food concept?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said his goal was to create an upscale fast-food restaurant with enough variety for everyone.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I go out to eat, my kids rarely want burgers,\u201d Copp said. \u201cThey always want pizza, and I get sick of pizza really quick, so that\u2019s kind of what did it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Copp said he prefers pepperoni or meat lovers pizzas, he said the hot Hawaiian pizza, topped with jalapenos and house-made hot honey, has been a popular order.
