SAN ANTONIO \u2014A man is in custody after police say he assaulted his girlfriend and barricaded himself inside a Northwest Side apartment. <\/p>\n
Police responded Monday afternoon to an apartment complex on Babcock near Huebner Road for a domestic assault call. A woman called 911 saying she was assaulted by her boyfriend. <\/p>\n
When officers arrived on scene they determined the woman had been assaulted with a cutting instrument and may have also been strangled.<\/p>\n
The man barricaded himself inside the apartment for several minutes after police attempted to get in contact with him. He eventually cooperated and was taken into custody without incident. <\/p>\n
The woman was treated by EMS at the scene for a minor cut injury.
