BEXAR COUNTY, Texas \u2014 Two people are dead after deputies say a Northeast Bexar County resident shot a woman then turned the gun on himself early Sunday. <\/p>\n
Sheriff’s deputies were called around 2 a.m. for a reported shooting at a home located in the 6200 block of Carriage Cape. <\/p>\n
A woman called deputies saying she had been shot by a male resident who then turned the gun on himself.<\/p>\n
Upon entering the home, deputies found a deceased man and a woman who was suffering from at least one gunshot wound to her upper body.<\/p>\n
She was rushed to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.<\/p>\n
The sheriff’s office said the incident marks the 19th homicide they’ve investigated this year and the 9th familyrelated homicide. In 2025, BCSO investigated 7 domesticviolencerelated homicides out of 15 total homicides for the year.<\/p>\n
As October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the sheriff’s office is encouraging the community to stay alert to the warning signs of escalating family violence. Individuals experiencing abuse, or those concerned for someone else, are urged to seek help immediately. Deputies say early reporting and intervention have been shown to significantly reduce serious injury.<\/p>\n

BCSO said they are investigating the case as a murder-suicide.
