Last week’s cold front brought a temperature change to Texas, including San Antonio. However, while the Alamo City may see low temperatures in the 60s, other areas will wake up to lows in the 50s. According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Amarillo, lows in the 50s are expected starting Tuesday morning and lasting through the weekend for the Texas Panhandle. Don’t get too comfortable with the cooler temperatures, though, as highs are expected to climb into the 80s, according to the NWS 7-day forecast.

The Texas Hill Country will also see low temperatures in the 50s, which the area hasn’t seen since May. Back here in San Antonio, expect to get cooler temperatures with lows in the 60s this week and highs in the 80s. Following last week’s rainfall, there looks to be another shot at rain later this week starting on Thursday.

“Drier weather returns for at least the first half of the week with warm highs in the upper 70s to low 90s and cool lows mainly in the 60s. A few rural locations in the Hill Country and southern Edwards Plateau may see lows in the 50s for the first time since May. Low rain chances make an appearance late week into the upcoming weekend,” NWS said.

Forecasters are also closely monitoring a tropical disturbance, which could develop; however, impact remains low for the San Antonio area.

“We are monitoring a tropical disturbance in the Bay of Campeche in the Southwest gulf with a 70% chance of tropical development over the next 7 days. Little impact expected for South-Central Texas other than a few showers Thursday-Friday as the system will likely remain offshore,” NWS said.

Last week’s cold front brought a temperature change to Texas, including San Antonio.
