The annual Southern Smoke Festival held at Discovery Green was bigger than ever with dozens of local restaurants showcasing their culinary prowess alongside visiting chefs from all across the country. From Bludorn’s Senegalese lamb to pulpo anticuchero from Carlos Delgado of Causa in Washington, D.C., there were all kinds of cuisines represented with spectacular results.

Martin Stayer’s crew at Nobie’s was serving up more than just dilly doughnuts. Collaborating with organizations such as The Restaurant Workers Community Foundation, Southern Smoke has expanded to more than 15 states with its crisis toolkit, helping hospitality employees with housing, groceries and health care in times of need.
